Brava is a tall, sturdy half-orc woman who is built like a brick house. She stands 6’3” barefoot and has a generous amount of muscle beneath all the chainmail. Go ahead and ask; she can pick you up pretty easily. Almost all of her features could be described using the words ‘thick’ and ‘broad’—shoulders, calves, hands, and jaw all included. Not that she’s particularly fond of those descriptors.

Brava has the typical greenish complexion and tusked underbite of her race with long, wavy, dark brown hair that is usually tied in a tail at the nape of her neck. The worn-out cord she uses tends to loosen quickly, so she often has hair falling in her face as well. Her eyes are a bit small for her face, dark, and situated above a large but notably human-looking nose.

She is often seen around camp in common clothes—simple brown pants, leather shin-height boots, a cream-coloured tunic, and a belt. The more eye-catching parts of her ensemble can be seen when she goes adventuring with the party; a large chainmail shirt, and a richly-coloured blue cloak fastened with bronze. More than anything else, the most important thing Brava wears is her pendant; a silver sword and chain with its hilt decorated in a brilliant gold sunburst. She guards this with her life.

Personality

At first blush Brava is a pretty strong introvert; her default mode of engaging others is to quietly work on the sidelines, and leave the jokes and conversations to others. If prodded into discussion her words usually come slowly and carefully chosen. She has a deep fondness for quiet types who let their actions do the talking, and finds more extraverted people to be endearing, but exhausting. Embarrassment, awkwardness, and stammered replies are par for the course when Brava engages these people.

In either case, the easiest way to get on her good side is to simply do good things where she can see. Protecting the defenceless, defending peoples’ freedoms, and acts of selflessness/integrity/sacrifice for others will always sway her opinion of you to the positive. Words of honesty and kindness will do the same to a smaller extent, provided she’s seen good actions to back them up. Anyone Brava considers a ‘good person’ will have her steadfast support, friendship, loyalty and protection.

Of course, not everyone can be good. Brava will regard many neutrally—or at least leave them be—if they disagree with her; ‘live and let live’ is something she knows well. But if someone’s actions cross her personal moral code, it might be impossible to recover in her eyes. Harming the good or the innocent, desecrating the dead or the holy, restricting a person’s liberty, and dealing with evil forces are all surefire ways to have Brava regard you with unyielding malice and hostility. Be careful if you get on her bad side; a righteous sword is honed for the wicked.
