Downtime Session 22

From Lost Shores

(This is a copied from the Downtime sessions from the Lost Shores forum)

Hi All,

With the completion of session 22, the following players have 20 days of downtime. However Please consider three of these days interrupted by camp events.

Tobei, Brava, Seresh, Melody, Rihec, Johnny, Professor Endeavor, and Phyra

as before "Please respond in this forum thread and I'll post the results. Depending on what you want to do I may request skill modifiers or the like. If you've a project or thing your character wishes to conceal feel free to text me and we can work out the details but I'd still appreciate a quick blurb here on what people see you getting up to.

I'll post the results here afterward. Feel free to ask question about what can be done in downtime if you need ideas, I don't have time to post it all at the moment but may add a downtime fact thread at some point, time allowing

The will have to be resolved before the next game

I would like to add that the more specific on what you seek to accomplish the more often you'll find better results in your endeavors. You can see examples of it in previous down times posted in the forum.

Rihec

Alright. Let's do this.

So for this downtime, Rihec will be putting his trapper profession to good use with the intention of generating the goods and labor needed to build the Pit Shack. Of course, he ends up sulking in misery during the camp events during the 3 days of interruption. But regardless, if he manages to generate 3 goods and 2 labor and still has some days left, he will spend them building his Pit Shack (because he refuses to have to share buildings with the others during winter anymore than is absolutely neccessary).

Either during or after that, Rihec will also take the time to attend any sign language classes Tobei holds (as he is a diligent study who will actually show up like he says he will for them).

And after everything, if there's still time, he will fill it with procuring rations because he needs to restock a little. But this part is only if he has the time to do it.

Results

Rihec's is able to acquire what he needs to construct his Pit Shack early on after the last expedition leaves, though it costs him quite abit of coin up front. He notes that there's quite a lot of demand for the camps attention as a whole, many projects on the go but only so many hands to get it started and it does take him some time.

He spends the remainder of his time trying to make up the spent coin and learning with Tobei about the intricate hand language of his, picking up a little but not quite all they way there yet (+3 on future attempts to learn)

He also huddles up during the three miserable days of fog in his completed shack, still managing to be productive making snares and such for trade and use with his trapping skills

Earns/Creates Pit Shack (Shack room), (+3 additional modifiers to Linguistics check to learn Sign Language) Costs 20gp

Professor Endeavor

Prof. Endeavor will recount his last few adventures at the camp to generate influence (1 unit). He will attempt to volunteer his newly rediscovered knowledge of engineering and architecture to the various building activities at camp in exchange for what spare labour more efficiency will create (2 units). He would then use this capital to assemble a work gang to help about camp. By finding someone suitable to manage this team, he will allow it to work autonomously while he pursues other goals. Such plans will be outlined once he's completed his current ones.

In the mornings he will spend some significant time meditating on the subject of his alabaster mask and dragons. When he's unoccupied he will Ask Taffeta if she would be willing to join him on a picnic by the shore.

Results

Endeavour find with the spread of some coin, his tales and the application of some good engineering know how he quickly convinces several individuals to follow his lead as a team. Most of them hail from he group he helped rescue from the Owlbear, and together their efforts earn themselves and him some extra coin (their wage pay it automatic out of what they earn, the extra goes to Endeavour)

He doesn't have much luck finding anyone willing to take on a full time managerial role at this time, after a few days of trying it quickly becomes apparent that those skilled like himself, or with the aptitude are all tied up in their own projects or larger ones. The camp is small enough that the labour team will work on projects by themselves with minor over site by Endeavor, though their effectiveness will deteriorate if left alone for to long.

His time meditating is both relaxing and perplexing. He begins to have a creeping itch at the back of his mind, a growing belief that the mask hold some secret or secrets, not helped by the occasional return of a recurring run through a jungle in the dark of night...

Taffeta is surprised, but receptive, to Endeavors offer of a shoreline picnic. She's a busy, determined woman, throwing herself into work with her hands and the animals when she can, and is grateful for the break. She seems to enjoy herself quite a bit, greatly enjoying his tales of adventure and feats of heroism as Endeavour and her spend the next few weeks getting to know more about each other.

Mayvn

Melody will spend her time helping out around camp, but keeps to herself during the time of the twin new moons. The day of the new moons she spends meditating at the edge of camp, and comes back the next morning having cut her hair and back to work.

Results

Melody earns a few coins for her labour, and there's quite a high demand with all the projects. She finds the lacks of moons in the sky both beautiful and a little chilling, the stars themselves covered by unseen clouds high above more often then not, as tiny flakes of snow drift down from above. People leave her to herself during this time, some because the are unnerved and fearful, others because there is to much to do, fog be damned.

Earns/Creates: 10gp

Brava

Brava will sell extra items she has to help purchase materials for the common room:

3 agates worth 9gp each 1 rock quartz worth 8gp alabaster worth 10gp

(for a total of 45gp)

She'll also start canvassing for any spare goods found around camp (or brought in from Athos and Undil) that can be donated or purchased for use in constructing the common room. She'll contribute from her own purse a maximum of 57 gold (in addition to the gold above) to help with building materials also.

Results

Brava trades her semi-precious stones away and spends her days convincing the camp to contribute to the project. Its tough going, and takes quite a bit of her personal funds but at the end of 20day finds herself having gathered together enough resources and manpower to proceed. It will still take another 5 days to coordinate it all (ie spend the combined resources at 3/day) as progress is being made on a animals shelter currently but people are quite impressed and energized.
